Founded in 1954, Lutheran Sunset Ministries is well known throughout the central Texas area as an organization that provides quality care and services. The original organizers of Sunset, which were a few area churches, saw the needs of an aging population and took a giant leap of faith to meet those needs. The program has grown throughout the years, and now has 48 churches throughout Texas that serve as sponsoring congregations, many which are located in the Central Texas area. Lutheran Sunset Ministries is located in Clifton, Texas, on 21 acres overlooking the Bosque River Valley. On its campus, it houses a new 126-bed skilled nursing facility, a large 24-apartment assisted living facility, a small 15-apartment assisted living facility and 51 retirement living apartments. LSM also operates a hospice program, Hospice Sunset that serves residents of Bosque County.
